Pinewater Farm

Pinewater Farm is a development that sits on a peninsula surrounded by two prongs of Herring Creek, Hopkins and Burton. Herring Creek is an estuary of Rehoboth Bay and it is a wonderful spot for boating, bird watching, crabbing and even a little skiing! The land was originally farmed by the Sloan family, which later developed it and still lives in the old farm house towards the back of the development.
Pinewater consists of single family homes; a great deal of them are on the water. The community owns several large lots on the water where they host parties and gatherings, have a botchi ball court and playground and a boat ramp. They also own a lot at the front of the community which used to be the sight of the annual community yard sale. It however outgrew the spot and is now held on the larger lots in the back.
Two of our team members have strong ties to the community. Maggie moved there with her parents when she was 14. (We won’t say how long ago that was!) And after she was married, she and her husband moved back to Pinewater to raise their two girls; i.e. Amy grew up on ‘the creek’ as well.
It has grown a great deal since then, but the sense of community is still as strong as ever, with a very active board and dedicated and caring neighbors.
